Discovery Camp is a 4-night / 5-day overnight experience that serves as the perfect introduction to the magic of Summer Camp for first-time campers in Grades 1–5. It’s an opportunity to dip their toes into everything that makes camp so special—fun, friendship, and adventure—while enjoying a shorter, manageable stay. It’s also a favorite for returning Discovery campers who use this program as a stepping stone to prepare for our longer 1 and 2 week camps.

During their time at Camp Summit, Discovery campers get a taste of all the fantastic program areas we offer, exploring the same beloved activities that make camp unforgettable. From classics like archery, climbing, orienteering, campfires, and arts and crafts, to moments of discovery in nature, every day is filled with opportunities to try something new and experience the wonder of camp life.

At Camp Summit, we pride ourselves on a variety-packed daily schedule that ensures every camper gets to explore, learn, and grow while discovering what excites them most. Discovery campers are placed in small cabin groups of 8 campers, with 2 staff leaders living in the cabin with them.

From the thrill of new adventures to the joy of gathering around the campfire with friends, Discovery Camp gives kids a safe, exciting, and unforgettable introduction to life at Camp Summit. It’s the start of lifelong memories, friendships, and a love for the spirit of camp!
