Adventure Challenge

Interested in taking your Camp experience to the next level? Our Adventure Challenge program may be the right fit for you! This two week program for campers in grades 5-8 builds on our authentic Camp Summit experience with the addition of our off-site programming and multi-day hiking trips that will take you to some of the most breathtaking sights British Columbia has to offer!
During their time at Camp, Adventure Challenges campers will have the opportunity to visit all of the fantastic program areas that Summit has to offer as well as some exciting off-site activities including our swimming and canoeing program at the beautiful Alice Lake. On top of that, campers are encouraged to set skill development goals as they work towards achieving their Summit Levels in programs such as Archery, Climbing, Outdoor Living Skills and Biking. Campers will also get take part in our exciting Summit Olympic program, where campers and staff spend the day working together at a variety of events to conquer their mission of winning gold for their Summit House Team! Campers will be placed on their Summit House Team once at Camp and will represent that team each year they come back to Summit and for LIFE!
At Camp Summit, we work to ensure there is plenty of variety in our daily schedule to give all campers an equal opportunity to learn and explore what interests them! Campers are placed in a cabin group of 8 campers with 2 Summit Staff living in the cabin with them. For our core activity programs, campers will travel as a cabin group to each activity that is scheduled for them – This helps to ensure our program is age appropriate for their group! Campers will also have the opportunity to choose their own interest activities during our “Choice Program,” where a list of exciting activities (specific to our Intermediate and Senior groups) will be available and they get to choose what they would like to do for a morning or afternoon time block.
On top of the fantastic programs offered at the Camp Summit site, each Adventure Challenge cabin will embark upon an amazing two-to-four night overnight trip, hiking popular trails such as Gambier Island, Elfin Lake, Joffre Lake and Garibaldi Lake. Under the direction and supervision of our trained Trip Guides, our campers are encouraged to challenged themselves and each other to accomplish goals such as preparing a meal over a fire, setting up a tent/tarp, navigating a trail system and practicing ‘leave no trace’ camping skills.
The Adventure Challenge program is truly and unbelievable experience that we are proud to offer as we see our campers walk away from their two weeks at Camp with strong friendships and memories that last a life.
