Outdoor Education Centre

Since 1999, we have welcomed schools and community groups, from across British Columbia (…and around the world!) for an immersive outdoor experience in the heart of the Upper Squamish Valley.

Our full-service experience provides a refreshing alternative to the traditional classroom, set in a stunning outdoor environment that sparks creativity and encourages exploration. Offered during the Spring (April – June) and the Fall (September – October), our outdoor education programs typically range from two to four nights with on-site and off-site day options also available.

Each program is thoughtfully designed to help students develop through cooperation, teamwork, and positive leadership. Tailored for all grade levels, these experiences encourage students to embrace challenges and take risks in a safe and supportive outdoor environment.

Why Take a Trip Outside of the Classroom?

Outdoor education is vital for students as it offers transformative learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom. Immersed in nature, students engage in hands-on activities that promote critical life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and leadership. These experiences help build resilience, confidence, and a sense of responsibility while fostering a deeper connection to the environment.

Outdoor education also provides a unique setting for students to step outside their comfort zones, embrace challenges, and discover their true potential. By combining adventure, reflection, and personal growth, outdoor education creates lasting lessons that empower students to navigate both academic and real-world challenges with greater confidence and adaptability.

Who do we work with

We are proud to deliver exceptional outdoor education experiences to the students of these incredible schools and many others each year! We are honored by their trust and dedication, as well as their continued commitment to returning year after year. Their partnership inspires us to continually grow and evolve, ensuring that each visit to Camp Summit is as impactful and memorable as the last. Together, we create opportunities for students to connect with nature, develop leadership skills, and build lifelong memories!

Unplug and rediscover

In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, many students arrive at Camp with limited exposure or in some cases no previous experience in outdoor adventure/experiential activities. For some, the idea of putting on a harness and scaling a climbing wall may feel intimidating or even overwhelming. However, in an environment free from the constant buzz of technology and the distractions of phones, students can fully immerse themselves in the challenge at hand and the meaningful connections formed when stepping into their growth zone.

With the guidance of our trained staff and adherence to the highest safety standards, we transform what feels like “real risk” into a powerful learning tool known as “perceived risk.” Standing at the top of a climbing wall that once seemed impossibly high brings a profound sense of achievement, confidence, and self-discovery—feelings that are often drowned out by the noise of daily life. At Camp Summit, students reconnect with themselves and the natural world, gaining invaluable life lessons in a safe and supportive environment.
